Tree-Climbing October 13, 2024

Piedmont Recreational Tree Climbing will teach us how to put on harnesses and use ropes to safely climb high in the canopy! Groups of 6 will climb for one hour. When not climbing, there are 4 giant tree swings, a 240 foot zipline, a giant seesaw, and some wooded trails. This is challenge by choice, meaning you push yourself as hard or as little as you would like. The tree we will be climbing is a huge white oak named Alba on Schönwald, their property in Mebane.
Note that you can sign up and pay $25 in full OR sign up now and pay $10 deposit, balance of $15 due by September 30 - I will create a way to pay the balance later.
Please print, sign, and bring the attached waiver with you.
What to bring/wear: Closed toe shoes are required to climb. Please also bring a water bottle, snacks/lunch as desired, raincoat, and if you have long hair, a way to tie it back before you climb. Comfortable long shorts, capris, or pants work best for climbing. Short shorts are uncomfortable with the harnesses and are not recommended. Skirts and dresses are not recommended.
Durham Carpools: meet at Cindy's house (4211 Peachway Dr) at 11:00am, pick up at 4:45pm.
Wake Carpool: meet at Sheraton Imperial off Page Rd (4700 Emperor Blvd) at 11:00am, pick up at TBA.
Driving selves: 4642 Rocky Branch Lane Mebane. After turning onto Rocky Branch Lane from Richmond Rd, drive down the gravel road to the cul-de-sac. Schönwald is the driveway straight ahead flanked by boulders. https://goo.gl/maps/nDfhBykDTKdRpudM8. Please plan to arrive at 11:50 and get picked up at 4pm. Please be on time as we will need to leave on time to drive the Durham and Wake carpools.
