ALL North Carolina families are eligible to APPLY for partial scholarship funding for the 25-26 school year through the NC Opportunity Scholarship and/or the ESA+ programs.
North Carolina families should do the following to plan for hopeful scholarship funding.
1) complete your Scholars Academy application (waived for returning scholars)
2) complete this Cheddar Up enrollment for the 25-26 academic year at SA3) determine your monthly payment amount and complete the setup here in Cheddar Up as a part of your enrollment process4) apply NO LATER THAN MARCH 1st for NC Opportunity AND, if your child has an IEP, the ESA+ program(s). You will be provided with the link to these applications at the end of this enrollment process.

How to determine your monthly payment amount:
Regular Education Program:Tuition $12,100Tuition for the 25-26 academic year is $12,100 for families paying monthly. If awarded, scholarship funding will be paid out twice through the state and the balance will be paid in monthly installments, from the family. The monthly payment plan is required for all scholarship families as the frequency of payments most closely matches this payment plan. If you prefer to pay your balance owed in one lump payment at the time of enrollment, please contact Dr. Lowder for guidance and a discount.
Most families will receive $7,500 in funding. The balance owed will be $4,600 for most families. Monthly, this comes to $460 for most NC full-time scholars.
Special Education Program Options:Exceptionality Academy (for scholars eligible for an IEP)Tuition $18,000Special Services Provided: Intensive Instruction inclusive of an individualized teaching and learning plan with additional 1:1 instruction up to 2x a week as well as consultation with Special Education experts in the field.
If your child has an active IEP and you wish to enroll in our Virtual Exceptionality Academy, you may receive $9,000 through ESA+ and could receive up to an additional $7,500 through NC Opportunity. This leaves a $0 balance owed. Monthly, this comes to $0 for full-time scholars. If you can, please consider giving a monthly amount of your choice to support families who are not in NC and who do not have access to outside funding. Any donation towards in-house aid is 100% tax deductible.

Autism Program (for scholars with Autism Spectrum Disorder-ASD)Tuition $26,000The Average NC Parent of a Child with ASD pays SA $0 in tuition to attend Scholars Academy's Virtual Autism Program.Special Services Provided: Intensive Instruction inclusive of an individualized teaching and learning plan with functional behavioral analyses to inform behavioral modification plans, as needed, with additional 1:1 instruction up to 3x a week as well as implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) embeded within the school day as well as social skill support.
If your child has an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and is eligible for an IEP and you wish to enroll in our Virtual Autism Program, you may receive $17,000 through ESA+ and could receive up to an additional $7,500 through NC Opportunity. This leaves a $0 balance owed. Monthly, this comes to $0 for full-time scholars. If you can, please consider giving a monthly amount of your choice to support families who are not in NC and who do not have access to outside funding. Any donation towards in-house aid is 100% tax deductible.
