Empower yourself with essential self-defense skills! In this interactive workshop, you'll learn practical techniques to protect yourself with calm, confidence and control. You'll also get to throw around or "practice" on your parent, partner or child on a padded floor!
From awareness training to hands-on defense techniques, this is perfect for anyone wanting to build their personal safety skills with martial arts. Join Aikido black belts and PKS parents Kevin Chuck (aikido nidan, 2nd degree black belt) and Bob Rosin (aikido sandan, 3rd degree black belt) for a 90-minute workshop that will get you moving and having fun.
For those wondering what Aikido is, it is a modern martial art that can be applied in either a violent or a peaceful way. It utilizes the "attacker's" energy/momentum and redirects it. Judo, Jiujitsu, Hapkido, Jeet Kun Do, Tai Chi, and WWE share some similar techniques for those who have familiarity in other disciplines. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this workshop is designed for everyone, regardless of experience level.
Open to adults or kids age 8+!
For those needing childcare, you can leave your kid in PKS aftercare while you take the workshop (right around the corner from school)
