In this workshop, we will practice entering the child’s world and learn effective strategies for encouragement and how to use a challenging situation to teach valuable social and life skills. You will gain tools that can be used when siblings fight; to encourage the children to feel capable to solve their own conflicts. We will explore alternatives to punishment and humiliation, discuss the long term effects of using these techniques, and learn how to involve children in creating an agreement while we, as parents, take responsibility for kind and firm follow through. This workshop is being offered for only $25 per person or $45 per couple. The class will begin Wednesday, October 30th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and run through December 11th; there will be no class on Wednesday, November 27th for Thanksgiving Break.
Oak Farm Montessori teacher, Ines Oldenburg will lead the class. She is certified as a Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Positive Discipline Classroom Educator, encouragement consultant; empowering people in the workforce, and has training in non-violence communications.
