Feb 22-23: Navy, Climbing and iFly Campout

Troop 149 invites you to learn about your Nation's Navy, spend the night at a rock climbing gym and enjoy indoor sky diving with a STEM program.

Those who want to go the extra mile can also ask to earn the Climbing Merit Badge.

Details:
  • meet at Cherrydale Methodist Church in Class A uniform on Saturday, February 22 at 8 am and depart promptly by 8:30 am. Bring a bagged lunch to eat in the car at the end of our drive to Naval Station Norfolk for a tour (passport, license or school ID required). The drive to Naval Station Norfolk takes about 3.5 hours
  • early dinner at the "Ships Cabin" dining facility then enjoy the spirit of friendly competition while bowling on base
  • spend the night at Latitude Virginia Beach Gym in our sleeping bags. Climbing, bouldering and general fun will keep us up late but there will be a curfew for night-owls that need to be told to go to sleep (snacks will be available; bring your water bottles)
  • next morning (in Class-B T-Shirts), drive to Doc Taylor's for breakfast, and order a to-go lunch for the drive home
  • iFLY Virginia Beach from 9 am to noon(ish)
  • return to the Pack 149 Blue and Gold Ceremony to help the Arrow of Light Scouts bridge into Troop 149 around 4 pm on Sunday, February 23 (Class A uniforms)...all Scouts invited to stay/welcome the Arrow of Light but are not allowed to eat the Cubs' dinner, or your parent can pick you up in the parking lot of Lubber Run Community Center at 300 N Park Dr, Arlington, VA 22203 Parent drivers are welcome to participate in every activity!
