Kensington Elementary - After School Extras - January 2024

Classes do fill up so register early!  All afternoon classes begin immediately after school at 2:45 pm and dismiss at 3:45 pm, unless stated otherwise.

TUESDAY - SNACK ATTACK (4 weeks) - Whip up a delicious adventure with our after-school culinary program! Our program will focus on the science of nutrition and simple culinary skills as we create delicious after school snacks each week. We aim to bring fun to creating healthy snacks along with an occasional special sweet treat.  Some past snacks include apple pie cups, guacamole, pancakes in a mug, pumpkin pie cups, rice krispie pumpkins, chocolate covered pretzels, waffles, dips, chicken quesadillas and more!  You never know what we are going to cook up next!

WEDNESDAY - BASKETBALL AND GYM GAMES (4 weeks) - NOTE: Class is 1.5 hours and ends at 4:15 pm.  Improve Your skills, stay active and have fun with friends!  Join coach Dallas Wells for a unique basketball experience that includes skill-building and fun gym activities. Depending on class interest, we may also incorporate other indoor ball sports like dodgeball, kickball, football, soccer, and more to keep things exciting. Sneakers are required, so make sure to come prepared for an active session. And don't forget to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the class!

THURSDAY - LEGO BRICK BUILDERS & BRAIN GAMES (4 weeks) - Unlock the world of innovation and creativity with our Lego and Brain Games class! This class not only introduces students to challenging brain games but also allows them to explore key STEM concepts while building and designing with LEGO bricks.  Everything is awesome when we are building with LEGO!

BeTa Community Programs is owned by Tammy Haarman & Rebecca Carulli, former PTA Presidents at Lake Avenue Elementary School. We have a passion for teaching children and providing enrichment opportunities for people of all ages.  BeTa currently offers before and after school enrichment activities in Saratoga Springs, South Glens Falls, Glens Falls, Queensbury, Ballston Spa and Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake School Districts.  BeTa also partners with the City of Saratoga Springs & Town of Greenfield Recreation Departments.
