Juniors are welcome to join Boulder Cadette troops 72418 and 73010 to earn their Space Science Investigator Badge on Sunday Dec 4th at Fiske Planetarium 2414 Regent Drive. Boulder, CO 80309. Cost: $15/girl. Must register by Nov 28th (or until space is filled - which is highly possible). All 5 steps will be available so the girls can earn the badge.
The first requirement of the badge is a scale model. This starts OUTSIDE the planetarium and the leader/parent needs to do the walk with the girl(s). That is NOT done by the volunteers at the planetarium. Doing it before or after your time slot will work well.
Both sessions includes a show specifically for the Girl Scouts to earn their badge. What's included:
Bake a spacecraft
Learn about UV Light (& make a SWAP)
Bookmark with your age on other planets
Planetarium Show
Snack (small)
Ball Aerospace volunteers
What's NOT included:
The Space Science Badge itself - it must be added on separately by Tues Nov 15
Beverage: Bring your own water bottle.
Enough volunteers to walk with your girls on the scale model (done before or after other stations with parents/leaders who brought the girls). This step is to be done by girls with their leaders/adults either before or after your session. Directions for the scale walk will be provided to adults before the date.
There will be space for ~50 Junior girls in each sessions. Please ++limit ++the number of adults to safety wise ratios so there is room for more girls. This is why we have to charge for ALL adults - they take up space in the planetarium. Please do not sign up for 2 adults for 1 girl because less girls will get to go. ALL adults must pay to attend. We may be able to open to more girls if we don't have too many adults. Note: If you are adding girls to your troop order and you continue to met your Safety Wise #, you can add more girls without adding adults (just make a note in the Sign Up form).

We did not include the cost of the badge because some people may already have ordered it, some people may want to order it later when they know how many actually showed up to earn it. But it is available for $3.75 (price + tax) if you order by Tues Nov 15 so we can give it to you at the event.
