Grant's Community Garden - Bring Our Garden Back to Life!!

Prior to the COVID-19 shutdown, Grant Elementary had a beautiful community garden that produced a variety of fruit and vegetables. It provided educational, hands-on opportunities for our students while at the same time built community among our families as we had a time to plant and a time to harvest together. Since the shutdown in March of 2020 the garden has been neglected and overgrown including our apple trees that badly need pruning. **We are hoping to raise $2500 **to cover the cost of pruning (which is only half of the actual cost of the actual pruning) which will greatly help breathe new life into our garden.

STEM Library - Fund the Future!!

No matter what career our kids choose in the future, a strong foundation of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will give them a head start. Due to a generous donor's vision of funding STEM-related activities at Grant, we were able to start a STEM Library. The beauty of our STEM Library is that it can be used by all teachers/grade levels and will last year after year.

We (PTA) surveyed all Grant teachers to ask what they would like/acutally use in their classrooms and the top three choices were Dot and Dash (mini robots that teach coding), the Lego Spike Essential Education Set and plug-in digital microscopes.

So far we've been able to purchase 1 Dot and 6 Dashes and 5 Spike Essential Lego Educations sets but we would like to purchase 10 more Lego sets ($274.95/each) and 6 more Dashes ($179.99/each) to make a full classroom set of each.

This really is an investment in our kids' futures both short and long-term!!
