The Sycamore Governance Community is a wonderful and exciting program that brings our community and school together. Through fun, inclusive events and programs we focus on community building and promoting the well-being of school-aged children in the school, home, and community. We serve as both our Parent Faculty Association (PFA) and as a School Site Council.
Everyone who is a part of the Sycamore community is welcome and encouraged to participate in our Governance meetings, events and programs (including students, parents, faculty, alumni, and community members). All have an equal voice in our consensus-based process.
Monthly Governance Community Meetings: 2nd Wednesday of the month. At our meetings we discuss topics ranging from academic outcomes and curriculum goals, to sustainability, equity and inclusion and how to best support all Sycamore students. Governance also oversees the funding of school programs such as music education, art, technology, and outdoor science school. We will be offering both in person, zoom and hybrid meetings this year.
Alumni and Community Opportunities. Once a Sycamore kid, always a Sycamore kid! Sycamore is truly a special place and it takes a village of support each and every new day.
Get Involved and Stay Connected. Many volunteer opportunities are offered throughout the year. An easy way to stay informed is by reading the weekly Leaf, sent out via email each Saturday by Principal, Amy Stanger. Whether you have participated in Governance Community events previously or you are new to Sycamore, we hope you will join us for meetings and events. We welcome your advice, your thoughts, and new ideas!
Social Media Pages our parent-led Facebook and Instagram pages @SycamoreFamilies are frequently updated and offer a great source of communication.
