We are excited to celebrate Catholic Schools Week beginning Saturday, January 28th through Feb 3rd, 2023!! During this week we will have lots of activities that will need assistance from your student and your family. Below is the agenda and information for your participation. We genuinely appreciate your help!!!
1/28 – 1/29 Celebrating Our Parish
We are requesting that all students attend a mass in uniform and there will be a sign up in CheddarUp (https://my.cheddarup.com/me/sldmpto) for participation as Greeters and Altar Servers. All students who participate by attending mass in uniform or as a greeter or server will receive a Jeans Day Pass for Friday, 2/3. This tracked on the honor system. Students should inform their teacher on Monday of their attendance or participation in a mass.
Monday, 1/30 – Celebrating Our Community
a. DRESS UP- Students wear favorite team jersey/sweatshirt with school appropriate jeans
b. ACTIVITY- Students/parent(s) will deliver treats/thank you coloring pages to local community helpers. Thank you coloring page is attached. Please have your child color and return to school by Friday,1.27. Sign up at https://my.cheddarup.com/me/sldmpto and look for information in the weekly newsletter.
c. Dine to Donate – Location to be announced
Tuesday, 1/31 – Celebrating Our Students
a. DRESS UP- Students wear PJ/Comfy clothes
b. Students from Guerin will come to the classrooms to read to the students
c. Special snack for students provided by room moms and 20 minutes of free time in classroom for students
Wednesday, 2/1 – Celebrating Our Priests
a. DRESS UP-Students in their Sunday best (school appropriate shoes or gym shoes)
b. Students will hear from Fr. Sean and a day in the life of a priest and his journey to priesthood
Thursday, 2/2 – Celebrating our Nation
a. DRESS UP-Students dress in red, white, and blue
b. Entire school will gather around the flagpole in the morning for a moment of gratitude and raising of the flag
Friday, 2/4 – Celebrating Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers
a. DRESS UP- Students wear spirit wear tops with uniform bottoms
i. *IF received jeans pass for mass participation students may wear jeans!
b. 8 am mass and blessing of throats, presentation of a gift to the priests and St. Theodore Guerin Teacher Award recognition ceremony
c. Faculty, Volunteers and staff will be recognized around school with special signs
d. Special snacks for students provided by Room Moms
