Black Women in Data Summit by DataedX Group

4th Annual BWD Summit

September 12-14, 2025

Atlanta, Georgia

DataedX Group started Black Women in Data (BWD) Summit in 2022 as a movement that tells and demonstrates to the world that Black women are more than data points. We represent less than 1% of the data industry workforce. By 2040, Black Women in Data wants to see Black women occupying 13% of these data roles.

Black women are data professionals who experience data/AI systems, tools and platforms differently. Therefore our perspectives need to hold much greater weight and overlooking our continuing educational needs is no longer acceptable. By deepening our data understanding and knowledge, we undoubtedly transfer these benefits to the positions we hold and organizations we are employed.

This 2-day professional development event that centers mid- and senior-level Black women data leaders so that they can connect with each other, share career experiences, invest in their next career move and enhance their data skills. We’ve curated an impactful experience, which is different from our contemporaries. Our programming offers hands-on interactive sessions, less concurrent session options and more time to engage with fellow attendees.

The BWD Summit experience is also more specialized to experienced Black women data leaders. We pay our majority Black women speakers, we give useful swag items like books, we share resources, we include a hot breakfast and lunch each day, and we create a safe space to discuss true sponsor/champion strategies. Over the past 3 BWD Summits, we’ve welcomed over 400 attendees from around the US including Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, DC area, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area, Raleigh, North Carolina, New York City area, Northern California area and Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

But, the BWD Summit comes at a significant cost. DataedX Group spends nearly $1400 per general registration attendee on a combination of leadership, career and data upskilling sessions that's intimate, inspiring and informative. The majority of our vendors are Black women-owned and operated vendors, including our speakers, photography, videography, catering, swag gifts, etc. Corporate sponsors, individual support and ticket sales help to offset the event expenses.

Nevertheless, DataedX Group covers the balance, which is nearly $800 per general registration attendee. We'd invite you to partner with us to make this a true care experience we envision and further offset our costs. Gift to the BWD Summit what you can. Any gift is appreciated!
