BeTa Community Programs is excited to partner with Ballard Elementary School and HSA to offer before school programs that bring professional educators and instructors to Ballard Elementary School. We are offering morning enrichment classes for students during the school week. This session will run for 6 weeks from Monday, February 27th - Thursday, April 6th.

Classes do fill up so register early! All morning classes begin at 7:50 AM and dismiss directly to class at the 8:50 AM bell. Children going to breakfast will be released 5-10 minutes early.
MORNING CLASSES - see details below:
MONDAY AM - BEGINNER SPANISH (5 weeks) - Join Señora Pilar Mittler for beginner Spanish language and Mexican culture class. For each session, she plans to emphasize basic language themes and vocabulary while also presenting new and fun topics including holidays, foods and traditions. Pilar was born and grew up in Mexico City and loves being able to share her language and cultural diversity through her country's customs and traditions.
Grades: K-5
Dates: 2/27, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27 and 4/3 (no class 3/6 for Superintendent's conference day)

TUESDAY AM - JAZZ DANCE (6 weeks) - We are excited to welcome Lauren Adair, owner of Spa City Dance and the Arts, to Ballard Elementary School. Lauren brings over 30 years of dance and teaching experience and was a competitive dancer for over 10 years. Jazz dance is an ideal way to develop well-rounded dance skills – it's lively, energetic, and creatively diverse. The high energy of jazz dance has a liveliness that sets it apart from traditional dance forms.
Grades: K-5
Dates: 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28 and 4/4
Class Fee: $85
WEDNESDAY AM - ARTS & CRAFTS (6 weeks) - A different arts or craft project every week! Paint, sew, cut, glue, sparkle – make something for yourself or a friend. Taught by BeTa Community Programs instructor Christine Carling. Christine has over ten years working with children from preschool to school age. Your child will have fun crafting with Christine!
Grades: K-5
Dates: 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29 and 4/5
Class Fee: $75 (plus $10 supply fee)

THURSDAY AM - BRAIN GAMES (6 weeks) - Join us for a variety of brain game activities! Brain games are a great way to stimulate and develop young minds, exercise cognitive abilities and lay a foundation for mental health — They are fun, help improve cognitive functioning, memory, concentration and problem solving skills. Examples include, Rubik's Cube, cup stacking, sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, memory games, musical games, brain teasers, math & logic games and many more.
Grades: K-5
Dates: 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30 and 4/5
Class Fee: $65
FRIDAY AM - KNITTING (4 weeks) - Learn how to knit! A lifelong skill that helps children relax their mind and promotes discipline, focus and coordination to create an item of value and practicality. Class will start by teaching the children a simple garter stitch and will progress at their own speed. The goal of the six weeks is for each child to create one (or more) squares to contribute towards creating a large blanket that will be donated to a local charity. This class will be taught by BeTa Community Programs instructor Michele Patton.
Grades: 3-5
Dates: 3/10, 3/17, 3/24 and 3/31 (no class 3/3 as the instructor is unavailable, no class 4/7 due to Good Friday)
Class Fee: $55 (plus $5 supply fee)
