This is a Level 2 backpacking trip, open to girls who have completed at least one Level 1 backpacking trip at any time with Trailblazers.
Here is the plan: Meet at Cindy’s house Friday at 1pm for a gear shakedown and packing up all the group gear and food. Around 3pm we will drive to the Birkhead Mountain Wilderness in Troy NC, around a 2 hour drive. We will hike a 12-mile loop over the course of the weekend. This is the real deal of backpacking! We will find a suitable camping area in the wilderness, dig catholes for our toileting needs, and purify water!
