Help Our Team and the Local Environment!
About
Albemarle Rowing was established in 2012 to develop high school age rowers. Our rowers have been top performers at regional, state, and national levels bringing recognition to Albemarle Rowing as a highly competitive and distinguished sculling program. As a team our rowers are developing more than rowing skills, they are developing lifelong skills like time management, discipline, perseverance, tenacity, determination, and humility.
What We're Raising Money For
Save for Electric Motors and Batteries for Launch $18,000
New Double Shell $18,300
Refurbished Single Shell $2,000
Why You Should Give
We are mid-way through our Winter Training season and excited to have so many new rowers participating! Equipment costs are the largest expenses in our budget, and we rely on rower fudraising to purchase and maintain equipment to help keep this program in top form. We made great progress toward our goal last year with the purchase of a second launch that will accommodate electric motors. This year we need to continue our efforts to purchase electric motors and batteries for our two launches (to be mandated by the County to protect the quality of water in the Rivanna Reservoir, the County's drinking water supply). Your donation can support our team AND the local environment. Additionally, we are hoping to fund a new double shell and a refurbished single shell.
