Parent/Guardian Information
Camper Registration: Day Camp is an exciting opportunity for girls entering 1st through 6th grade in Fall 2025 to meet new friends and experience the many different activities that are offered. Prior scouting experience is not required!
UNIT PLACEMENT: We invite all campers to bring a friend to camp! Though every
effort is made to ensure each camper is placed with the friend they request, it
is not always possible. Friends of the same age group or grade level are
easiest to place together. On occasion, units are comprised of two grade levels
such as a 2/3 combo or a 5/6 combo. However, we cannot place campers together
that are more than one year apart in grade level. It is difficult to place 3rd
and 4th graders together.
SU 630 children and children whose parents volunteer at Day Camp are given first
priority in unit placement; otherwise the units are filled as registrations are received.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registrations are subject to availability. All registrations are due by April 13, 2025. Once camp has filled, a waitlist will
be started. If a spot opens up, placement will be made based on the date the
registration was received and the age slot available. Because of the cost and
planning that takes place to make camp possible, should you need to cancel, it
is important that you do so as early as possible. This will allow us to offer
the spot to another camper or adjust supplies.
The last day to cancel with a full refund is April 30, 2025. From May 1st on, refunds are based on funds available and on whether another camper is available to replace your daughter.
Crew: Girls entering 7th through 12th grade in Fall 2025 will work with younger campers by assisting their unit leaders. This is a great opportunity for girls to learn leadership skills and still have the camp experience.
TRAINING:* Training is a tool to prepare the girls for the expectations
and responsibilities of camp, as well as an opportunity to familiarize
themselves with the week’s upcoming crafts, games, and activities.
All crew members MUST attend training on Sunday, July 20, 2025 or they will
not be allowed to work at camp - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Crew must be at camp from 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday and
from 8:30am to 3:15pm Tuesday to Friday.
“Crew Agreement” signature required for registration to be accepted.
The last day to cancel with a full refund is April 30, 2025. From May 1st on, refunds are based on funds available and on whether another crew is available to replace your daughter.
Volunteer Staff: Our camp is completely run by volunteers. Adults who enjoy working with children and want to spend a rewarding two to four days having fun are encouraged to join our staff! Each unit is made up of two adult volunteers, two crew (7th to 12th graders), and approximately 6-12 campers.
COMMITMENT: Because not every volunteer is available to work the
entire five days (including training), we ask for a minimum of two full days
to ensure a consistent and quality program. Volunteers MUST currently be
a registered member of Girl Scouts with an approved background check.
If you are interested in joining our staff but do not yet meet these
requirements, please contact Connie Wilson at 408-807-1791 immediately to
discuss enrollment procedures.
TRAINING: Adult volunteers are required to attend training on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
In addition, adult volunteers must take the GSNorCal Safety Wise and Mandated
Reporter classes.
Adult volunteers must be at camp from 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday and
from 8:30am to 3:15pm Tuesday to Friday.
SU 630 adults given first priority as volunteers; otherwise the staff slots are filled as
registrations are received.
In order to keep our adult to child ratios, we need at least 26 adult volunteers to make our camp happen.
If we do not meet this requirement by the registration deadline, Day Camp will have to be canceled.
Receipt Acknowledgement Email and Acceptance Email: An email will be sent out to acknowledge receipt of this registration and a signed health history form for each attendee. You will receive this within 2 weeks after receiving both your registration and a signed health history form for each attendee. An acceptance email will be sent out in May, including important paperwork about this fun and exciting week. Make sure email addresses are provided on the registration form.
TRAINING INFORMATION: Training will be held at Blackberry Farm in the Oak area. BOTH Crew and Staff members must attend Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 10:30am to approximately 4:30pm as required by Girl Scouts. Training includes a camp tour, general camp practices, safety procedures, adult/camper relationships, crafts, games, and an opportunity for the volunteers to meet their fellow unit leader/crew. There will be no childcare provided on this day. It is imperative that we have only adults and crew members attend this training, not only for safety sake, but also to ensure that each person receives a quality training experience. If for some reason you are absolutely unavailable to attend the training day, Sunday, July 20, 2025, please contact Connie at DayCamp@gs630.com to see if special arrangements can be made. We will not be able to accommodate very many alternate arrangements.
