People who have lost their homes in large crises, like the Marshall Fire, often have their immediate needs replaced, from bedding to furniture to cleaning supplies. Material heirlooms such as cookbooks containing treasured recipes or family photos are much harder to come by. I cannot replace individual books or photos, but I hope that I can lessen the severity of the impact and bring people who have been through so much some solace in the form of good food.
I have a finished cookbook, complete with over 50 in color Family recipes from around the community. Some of them come from the Longmont Senior Center, some come from family and friends, and some of them come from the administration of the St. Vrain Valley School District. They’re all from different cultures and families, and each special in their own way.
Louisville Community Food Share is known for providing food and the necessary supplies to anyone in need in the community. If you would like to make an optional donation, funds received will be given to Community Food Share.
