Queerly Traditional

This Shabbaton is for LGBTQ+ young adults, 22-35*, who are interested in exploring what it means to be queer and follow halacha in an affirming way. You do not need to be particularly observant or traditional to attend. Participants can be actively pursuing halachic observance, just flirting with it, or interested but not sure they want to take it on. No prior knowledge or background needed.‎

Never been to a Shabbaton and not sure what to expect? During this Shabbaton, we will pray, study Torah, and discuss halacha through a queer lense and with the guidance of Rabbi Avigayil Halpern. This may be a more traditionally observant Shabbat than you are used to or a less traditional one.‎

Kosher meals and lodging will be provided. Please reach out to Caedyn at cdkrahling@gmail.com for any questions about accessibility of the venue or kashrut status.‎

Registration fee is $18.‎

The Shabbaton will be in Amsterdam, OH, which is about 1 hour outside Pittsburgh, 2 hours outside Cleveland, and 2.5 hours outside Columbus.‎

*If you are over 35, but would still like to attend, reach out! There are a few spots available for those over 35 to attend.
