The Umonhon Nation Public School has embarked on a progressive and transformational project to address hunger and food sovereignty on the Omaha Reservation located in Macy, Nebraska. This innovative project not only provides much-needed summer employment for 50 students of UNPS, but also provides the community of Macy with over 8,000 pounds of fresh produce and organic goods. Access to fresh and healthy food is a basic need that all people deserve and cherish and has had a positive impact not only on the health, but spirit, of the Omaha Tribe.
