Mushrooms and fungi have always fascinated me. I always look forward to long hikes a few days after a good rain because I know my eyes will be delighted by the mushrooms I see on the way. The variety of colors, shapes, textures, and smells is seemingly unlimited. I love to geek out watching documentaries on fungi. They hold so much potential yet to be discovered. I have several beautiful books about mushrooms and would absolutely love to take a mushroom foraging course to gain more confidence in my ability to identify the edible varieties. My love of mushrooms spills over into my pottery passion as well. It is so much fun to sculpt mushroom characters with my clay. There are ten mushrooms in the illustration and each mushroom has been given a monetary value of $100 towards our fundraising goals. Once we sell enough pieces from the mushroom collection to cover the value of a mushroom in the picture I will color it in. The mushroom collection goal is $1000 total.
