Monthly News: 2024 January - May

In January, we opened a new website with CheddarUp which enables us to sell merchandise, accept donations and keep alumni updated on what is happening at Hale.‎

We funded $600 of gift cards for students to help incentivize them to prepare and complete their MAPS test.
We initiated the Hale 65th Gala and Hall of Fame which will be in October, 2024.
We provided food and service for the Ray Murphy Memorial Wrestling Tournament for officials and coaches. This was a great success!‎

In February, we funded, cooked and served the Football Banquet. We presented the teachers with a "treat trolley" full of goodies which was wonderful! We also initiated the Champions Project where an alumni would be paired with a teacher or organization to assist in setting goals.‎

In March, we started assisting students with tutoring in an effort to get their programs completed by graduation, this was in addition to the City Year group.‎

We continued to work on the scholarship criteria and applications. We fed the teachers and support staff prior to an evening of Parent/Teacher conferences. We helped with supplies and direction with the Construction class to build 20 raised planter beds so they could sell them. We also initiated a canned food drive to help stock the Nathan Hale Food Pantry.‎

In April, we continue to follow up on our projects and fine tuned job tasks.‎

In May, we hosted a hospitality room for the Career Fair. This was a huge help to Mr. Kramer, who was in charge of the event. We provided breakfast for the vendors.
Thanks to Hilti, we were able to collect over 1,500 cans of food for the pantry.
We presented all the teachers with a breakfast for Teacher Appreciation Week. These are always a big success and much appreciated by all.‎

We funded the Hale Junior High Football team $500 to show our support for their summer camp.
We funded the JROTC Leadership Camp $350.‎

We funded the soccer dinner for $300 and also the Senior Class trip transportation was funded $2,000.‎

We awarded 8 scholarships to seniors totaling $5,000.‎

We funded the soccer team $400 for their out of town state tournament for food.‎

The second to the last day of school, we assisted Tulsa Changemakers with lunch and activities for the whole school.‎

What a great year it was!
