2023 began under the leadership of President, Cindy Hemm. Michele Nelson was Treasurer and January Leavell was Secretary. There were 3 Trustees. In January 2023, the bank balance was $4,295 in equity.
Our membership in 2023 was reinvigorated through the use of Givelify as a collection source for membership dues. In addition to the dues received, we have had several alumni step up to help with special needs and projects which has been greatly appreciated.
The Alumni Foundation purchased steel toe boots for the Construction Program funded by a generous donation of $2,800 by an alumni class.
The Baseball team received a donation of $2,500 to purchase a pitching machine.
Cheerleaders received a lead gift of $1,000 to help fund their Cheer Camp.
Principal, Dr. Riley, was able to acquire two new soccer goals for the soccer teams.
The Alumni Foundation funded $1,000 in College/Tech School scholarships and $3,000 was allocated but only had one of the scholarships claimed.
The Alumni Foundation sponsored a teacher appreciation breakfast to celebrate the end of the school year that was very much appreciated by all.
The school was cleaned out at the end of the school year in preparation of a great renovation. When the students returned for the first day of school, the Alumni Foundation greeted the students and teachers with gift bags and lots of encouragement for a great school year. This was a wonderful success!
This school year has had many accomplishments so far:
The softball team got new catcher's gear through donations
A Golf Tournament was held at Mohawk Park and raised over $4,000
An Open House was held to show off the renovated school and was attended by 85 former students
An alumni t-shirt sale has been ongoing and tremendously successful and now offers long sleeve shirts and hoodies
A fundraiser night at the Spotlight Theatre raised funds to send the basketball teams to a Thunder Basketball game at the BOK
Football homecoming had free admission for the students funded by the Foundation. The largest crowd Hale had seen in quite some years
A pizza party was held for the senior students that had completed the FASFA registration.
Thanksgiving meal was presented to the "Hale and Beyond" students
The Alumni Foundation funded the Reading Skills incentive for students
Participated in collecting food for the food pantry that serves the students
An alumni class gifted the art program $5,000
In September, the foundation ushered in a new set of officers with a total of 14 Trustees. We moved out of the storage unit and brought things to Hale to our new meeting room which is still a work in progress!
Throughout the year many of our alumni eagerly assisted with feeding the sports teams, providing food and snacks to students, pizza parties for achievements and assisted with various fund raising for sports and school clubs.
As we start 2024, we are starting the Champions for Hale Initiative to help serve clubs, academic departments, drama and sports teams. We encourage alumni to join us and get involved! Go to the Champions for Hale Initiative tab to read more about this program and how you can help us.
Thank you all for your hard work and perseverance.
Let's all Ranger On!
