Missoula Children's Theatre Auditions

Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Treasure Island will be held from 3:15-5:15 on Monday, March 24th, in the Moran Prairie Gym. There are roles for students in 1st - 5th grade and approximately 50-60 students will be cast to appear in the show. Up to 4 students will be cast as Assistant Directors. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition must arrive by 3:15 pm and stay for the entire two-hour session. This is a group audition–no advance preparation is necessary. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time!
Rehearsals will be conducted every day (Monday 3/24 - Friday 3/28) from 3:15 - 7:30 pm. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and be available for all scheduled performances. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition and students will not be excused for appointments, practices, etc. Approximately one-third of those who are cast in the show will need to stay for the first rehearsal, which will take place from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, following the auditions.  Cast members scheduled for the full 4 hours and 15 minutes will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner or snack to be eaten during the 15-minute break between sessions.
The performances will be held in the Moran Prairie Gym on Saturday, March 29, at 2:00 and 4:30 pm. The performances will be free to attend, but we'll be accepting donations for Maddie's Place, a local non-profit that provides medical care in a nurturing environment for substance-exposed infants.
Parents must pre-register their students to audition. We are unable to allow students to audition on Monday 3/24 without a signed permission form completed through this CheddarUp registration process.
The Missoula Children's Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year more than 65,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers! The residency at Moran Prairie Elementary is made possible by the PTG, using the funds raised during the Prairie Dog Dash in May 2024.
