The Huguenot Nursery School (HNS) Parents Committee strives to enhance community life at HNS by offering a variety of social gatherings and fundraisers for the betterment of our children's school experiences. The Committee organizes programs and gatherings outside of the school budget to bring families together and provide additional resources to the school. It encourages involvement among parents and caregivers, and strives to create a welcoming environment. The Committee works closely with the school’s director and staff to support the needs of both students and teachers during their time at HNS.
There are many ways the Parents Committee and its volunteers contribute to HNS, including – but not limited to:
Fundraising: Sponsorship of the HNS Annual Vehicle Fair and Charleston Wrap Holiday fundraisers;
School Events: Harvest Fest, Two-by-Two Animal Haven, Welcome Back Cocktail Party and Holiday Party;
Teacher Enrichment: Teacher Breakfasts and Luncheons, Teacher Appreciation Week events and Class Parent assignments;
School Enhancements: School-supply Gift Cards and Graduate Signs
Signature Projects: In 2023, the HNS Children’s Library was renovated and updated with the assistance of PC funding and volunteers; and
Giving Back: Adopt-a-Family Holiday Gift Drive and Thanksgiving-in-a-Box sponsorship.
