The concert dress/tuxedo policy gives the performing ensembles a professional and uniform look
for public performances. The required concert tuxedo for gentlemen is outlined below. We ask that prompt attention be given to purchasing the concert tuxedo for your child if they do not already own one.
****The concert dress/tuxedo described below will be required at our concerts.**
All young ladies in the Ola Guitar & Orchestra will be required to purchase the designated formal concert dress. As you know, dresses differ greatly in color, design, and length. In order to establish uniformity, we have chosen the same dress for these young ladies. This is also a chance for returning members to purchase a new dress if needed. Parent volunteers will measure young ladies for correct dress sizes at the beginning of September. Please know that the dresses will come in un-hemmed. **It will be your responsibility to get the dress hemmed to the proper length once it comes in.**
Total Price++: $85.00++ will be due along with the order form by ++September 1st++. If you cannot make the entire payment by ++September 1st,++ then please see Mrs. Bain to make other arrangements.
++Tuxedo –++
Gentlemen do not have to purchase a tuxedo from the school, but it is encouraged. If you can find one at a better price or if you already have a tuxedo, then just let us know. Students purchasing a tuxedo from the guitar & orchestra will be measured/fitted at the beginning of September by a representative from Black Tie Formal Wear. Please know that we will be placing one order for tuxedos, and it will be the student/parent’s responsibility to communicate whether or not they need to be fitted.
The pants for the tuxedo will come in un-hemmed. **It will be your responsibility to get the pants hemmed to the proper length.**
Color: pants, coat, tie and cummerbund all need to be solid black. Please do not purchase tuxedos with patterns or other colors on them. The shirt should be solid white without any patterns or additional colors.
Style: any basic style tuxedo coat or pants will do, as long as the color specs mentioned above are met. Gentlemen will need to purchase black shoes and black socks. Any solid black **dress **shoe will be acceptable to wear with the tuxedo. The shirt may have pleats or some common tuxedo design. The collar may be a “cutaway” design, where the band of the bow tie is exposed around the neck.
