Chicago Storm Special Hockey team is dedicated to providing children and adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to play hockey. Team members range in age from 5 to 55, and include both male and female athletes. The team is composed of players that have Autism, Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities.
Chicago Storm Special Hockey strives to promote and emphasize the development of sportsmanship, team spirit, increased confidence, pride, and team unity while having a great time in the process!
We are currently at 100 players and growing! Chicago Storm Special Hockey practices at 5 rinks in the Northern Illinois area. Ice time, equipment, tournaments, as well as some travel is made possible through our various fundraising. The cost for practice ice time alone is in the tens of thousands of dollars each season.
Every time our players take the ice, it is proof of positive social change and representative of an inclusive community. None of that would be possible without the support of changemakers like you.
We are so grateful for your support!
Thank you!
