DD Spring 2025

All Players that are born in 2019, 2018, 2017 will be part of our DD Program. The spring season will typically run from early April thru early June and registration will be open until 02/20/25 or until teams are filled.

The DD League differs from Instructional in that the kids are put on a team that lasts for the entire season. Each team has a coach (or two) that will work with the players in expanding their knowledge of soccer and building on their soccer fundamentals. Each player’s team will meet on one of two different practice schedules.

Practices and Games will be at Newton Park. These games are typically on Saturdays and will start promptly at 10:30 a.m.

Players need:

  • Size 3 ball
  • Shin guards
  • Soccer cleats
  • Uniform
  • Water bottle

The format is to have four 10 minute quarters. These games follow most of the basic rules of soccer that they will be playing when the kids progress into the travel teams (ages eight through fourteen, played in Ohio Travel Soccer League)

There is also a referee assigned to these games (usually a player from one of our older OHTSL teams or even the High School.)

While the referee is there to control the game, he or she is also instructed to help the kids learn the game. So you may see a referee allow a player to throw in a ball a couple of times so they can get it right. Again, we don’t feel the scores of these games or which teams win or lose to be very important. It is only important that the kids have fun, learn an appreciation for the game of soccer and that we, as a community, get an opportunity to encourage children of all skill levels while they play a game.

In order to provide a safe and fun learning environment for all our players, a guardian must remain at the fields at all times during games and practices. If your player is a disruption to practice they may be asked to come sit with their guardian until practice is over so that the rest of the team can continue learning.

While we have been fortunate the past few seasons with nice weather for the most part, just a reminder that we do play in most inclement weather situations with the exception of lightning or poor field conditions. We will notify parents if these situations arise.
