GIRL SCOUT TROOPS WILL Show off their Outdoor Skills in this affirming competition!
Juniors, 2nd Year Brownies, and 1st Year Cadettes are welcome.
Junior Skills Weekend is an opportunity to celebrate your outdoor skills progression with Volunteer Outdoor Experts!
After all this time indoors, we are all a little rusty, and look forward to meeting Girl Scouts right where they are in a positive, fun, and experiential learning environment.
The competition aspect is mostly Girl Scouts competing against themselves -- how can I grow, how can WE grow as a team, how can I grow my leadership -- and celebrating our successes! Awards are given for all, as well as First, Second, and Third Place.
Points are given for confidence in skill demonstration in the areas of Knots, Lashing, Outdoor Cooking & Sanitation, Fire Building, First Aid, Leave No Trace, General Camping & Clean Up, and Team Work.
Outdoor Skills Handbook of what to practice is provided electronically.
