Pine Lake Prep’s annual Grandfriends' Day has been an essential part of the PLP calendar, allowing students to share their school experience with someone special in their life. It's a fun event in itself and serves PLP’s larger goals of making sure the school connects with students' lives and encouraging students to bring their full selves—their lives and experiences—into the classroom.
Grandfriend's Day has historically brought hundreds of guests to campus, and we expect there will be high interest in this year's event. Anyone in a child's life can be a grandfriend. The important thing is that each child has someone to share the day with. This can be a neighbor, an aunt or an uncle, a babysitter, a grandparent, or a dear friend—a grandfriend is someone special to your PLP student.
RSVPs are important
There is no fee to attend. Please RSVP on this website. If you have questions about how to RSVP, please get in touch with us at [email protected]. If your plans have changed since you initially RSVP'd, you can contact us at the same address.
A look at the day:
A shuttle bus will take you from the Cove Church to the ACC. See below for the shuttle bus schedule.
The day begins in the ACC. Please stop by the registration desk in the ACC. There you will receive a badge with your student’s teacher’s name. This assists the PLP staff in directing you to the correct room when necessary. Registration is key. There are two sessions, and registration allows staff and volunteers to give guests the details they need for a great visit.
When the session ends, classroom teachers will assume your child has permission to leave with their grandfriend, unless you let them know otherwise. The Shuttle bus will take you to your vehicle.
SESSION 1 : GRADES K, 2, & 4. A shuttle bus will take you from the Cove Church to the ACC. Shuttles will depart The Cove Church at 8:15am and run until 9:30am. Return shuttles will resume at 10:15am.
Kindergarten: 9:25am to 10:25am
2nd Grade: 9:35am to 10:35am
4th Grade: 9:45am to 10:45 am
SESSION 2: GRADES 1, 3, & 5. A shuttle bus will take you from the Cove Church to the ACC. Shuttles will depart The Cove Church at 10:00am and run until 11:20am. Return shuttles will resume at 12:00pm.
1st Grade: 11:15am to 12:15pm
3rd Grade: 11:25am to 12:25pm
5th Grade: 11:35am to 12:35pm
