The extra-curricular CCHS Percussion Ensemble was created to give percussion students as well as non-percussion students an opportunity to spend more time developing a higher level of knowledge and skill in music through practicing and performing on percussion instruments. The students work on music that is more pop-oriented than what they generally play in band classes and, each year, they study percussion music from a different culture. The Percussion Ensemble members also have the opportunity to gain a tremendous amount of satisfaction, personal growth, leadership and group skills, plus an understanding of the value of friendship and responsibility.
The ensemble rehearses on Wednesdays and Thursdays from now until May and will be performing the CCHS Ethnic Fest on March 2 (TBD), the Percussion Ensemble Concert on April 11, and will culminate their season with a performance at the final Jazz Band Concert on May 5.
