Botanical Printing Workshop w/Fabby Eco Chic - February 22nd (Sat.)

Join us as we host Elizabeth King from Fabby Eco Chic with a eco printing/botanical printing workshop on Saturday, February 22nd at Wild Orchid from 12-2:30pm. Choose from either a botanical bamboo scarf, socks, or both! Cost is $68 for scarf, $38 for one pair of socks, $48 for two pairs of socks, or create both for $95 (a 10% discount).
Eco printing or botanical printing is a creative process where fabric is soaked in natural salts and then real leaves and flowers are placed on the fabric and bound and steamed, creating a permanent design of the flowers and leaves in the natural fabrics. It is an eco-friendly and organic process using only the natural dyes and pigments from the flowers and leaves. Each piece created is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of botanical art!
All materials and tools are included for this workshop. A complimentary beverage and light refreshments are also included. All ticket sales are FINAL. If you are unable to attend, you can transfer your seat to another guest. Registration is available in the ticket link. You can also call or stop in the shop to register! 630-849-9036
About the artist: Elizabeth King is an experienced textile fiber artist. She discovered the beauty and uniqueness of Eco Printing a few years ago. She teaches workshops in the Chicago area both in the city and the suburbs. Her home studio is located in Geneva, Illinois. The workshops consist of 2.5 hours of hands on eco printing using real leaves and flowers, many of which she grows in her garden. She guides you through a fun and creative session where each participant prints a silk scarf to go home with. Each scarf is unique and students leave with a basic understanding of the natural process. You can follow Elizabeth on Instagram at @fabbyecochic
