Program Structure
One-Time Commitment: Guest readers are invited to participate on a one-time or occasional basis. Volunteers typically read for a single session, which lasts about 30 minutes to an hour.
Storytelling and Discussion: During the session, guest readers share a book or story with the students, followed by a brief discussion about the story’s themes, characters, or lessons. This interaction encourages critical thinking and makes reading more interactive and enjoyable.
Encouraging Literacy: Guest readers also have the opportunity to inspire students by sharing their own love of books and learning, showing students how literacy plays a role in both their personal and professional lives.
